Context
TheraPanacea is a Paris-based AI company for radiotherapy and precision oncology, a spin-off of Université Paris-Saclay. Its platform, ART-Plan, is an AI-driven, CE-marked and FDA-cleared solution for treatment planning and adaptive monitoring, used by more than 60 cancer centres and supporting care for over 60,000 patients a year. Its capabilities ship as separate AI modules — Annotate, SmartFuse, SmartPlan, TumorBox, AdaptBox and more — split into planning and follow-up groups.

Challenge
ART-Plan is built to be an assistant for clinicians — automating the common, repetitive tasks and handing the hardest judgment calls back to the doctor. That means fitting alongside the main systems clinicians already use. The design task: bring a set of AI modules into one coherent, low-friction platform that serves all kinds of clinical roles, each with distinct decisions.

My role
I designed the platform's information architecture, role-based dashboards, and core clinical workflows, working closely with clinical and product leads and the module teams. I grounded the design in the radiotherapy domain — DICOM, dose metrics, replanning — and translated complex technical concepts into clear, verifiable interfaces.

What I did
• Grounded the work in the domain and the market: a competitive analysis across seven planning platforms (Eclipse, RayStation, MIM, Velocity, Monaco, MVision AI) and a full map of the platform's own vocabulary, licences, modes, and system messages.
Established the entity model — Institute → Patient → Project → Module → Task — anchored on the principle that clinicians think in patient cases, not tools.
• Restructured navigation into three clear destinations: a read-only Dashboard for situational awareness, Patients for clinical decisions, and Tasks for compute monitoring.
• Differentiated dashboards and list views per role while keeping shared components with minimal variation.
• Corrected the high-stakes replanning workflow to match clinical reality, delivering it as diagrams, a full action taxonomy, and interactive prototypes deployed for client review.
• Built the supporting design system.
• Designed the company's "Our Values" visual system — a five-value icon set, a unified master symbol, and 3D glass brand renders — extending TheraPanacea's new brand identity across internal and external touchpoints.

Outcome
Delivered a unified platform architecture with role-based dashboards, a corrected replanning workflow, and a deployed prototype suite that gave the team a shared, testable reference. The design supports both modes of the product as two distinct phases: reliable automation, where the AI runs and returns results to the treatment system, and verifiable automation, where clinicians confirm anomalies before output returns to treatment.
